Dyeing Eggs

Megan could not wait to do this!  You would think I told her she could live at the park under the slide!  (seriously, she would if she could).  We didn't dye too many.  I needed the eggs for baking. LOL!

3rd Birthday Fun

Megan is 3 years old today!  It's a Monday, so we decided to just get out and do something.  Unfortunately, it was very rainy out, so we trekked to the mall for some Birthday fun.  Megan wore her adorable cake shirt from Love Lucas Creations.

We started with our annual trip to Build A Bear.  Megan picked out a bunny bear this year.

Put her heart to your head so she's smart...

Putting in the heart

Registering her as "Cupcake".

We then stopped at My Favorite Muffin for a chocolate mini-muffin.  And we finished our mall trip with a ride on the train.

Later on, Megan had her choice of where to go for dinner.  It's no surprise that she picked McDonald's.  She had her nuggies and fries and then we let her play a little on the giant playscape.  Afterwards, we headed home to sing Happy Birthday and have some Carvel ice-cream cake.

Make a wish!
At this point, I was told, "Ok, you can give me my presents now!"  Ha ha, little girl.  I did have a couple of gifts for her, but I thought it was funny how I told her at 8am that she could open presents after cake and she did NOT forget 12 hours later!  She loves her new Melissa and Doug Birthday Cake puzzle and her M&D Beads.  She also received an adorable hat and purse and outfit from Grandma C.  We're saving the rest of her gifts for her actual party in a couple of weeks.

Happy 3rd Birthday to my Beautiful, Smart and Sassy little girl.
Daddy and I love you more than you can imagine and we are so proud of you and what a big girl you are becoming!

The Rainy Day Egg Hunt

It was a clear but cloudy morning when we decided to head out to the Bunny Hop at the zoo.  Rain was not forecasted until the afternoon.  Unfortunately, it started to rain just as we got there.  We thought the egg hunt was canceled, but to our surprise, it was ON!  Megan also met the Easter Bunny, participated in a Bunny Sack Hop, made her own bunny ears and collected yummy treats all around the zoo.  And, a day at the zoo is never complete without a trip to The Treehouse.

My favorite little tidbit of the day.  When we entered the PECO Primate Reserve and Megan saw the apes, it suddenly dawned on her that she was in the Hall of Apes!

Please stand by...

Numerous updates, photos and events coming up this week, including Easter Festivities, Birthday Celebrations and Spring Fun.

In honor of Valentine's Day

10 Things I Love About Megan

1. I love her sense of humor. She is starting to tell jokes and she thinks she's hysterical. (She is. Silly, but funny.) And her laugh. I love that hearty laugh.

2. I love the songs she makes up. It's like living an opera. She sings her way through the day and just has the sweetest little voice. And in tune too!

3. I love how affectionate she is. She loves to cuddle and tell me secrets. I love to smother her with kisses and make her giggle. I cherish our cuddle time together.

4. I love her curiosity of the world. She is always asking "what's that?" and  is constantly finding out what happens if... Sometimes it results in a big mess for me to clean up, but I keep telling myself she's learning something. I hope.

5. I love to see her interact with her friends. She loves being with other kids and playing with them. She shares well and is full of empathy when she sees other children in distress.

6. I love her sense of style. She loves to dress up in the oddest combinations, but there is always a method to her madness. Those combinations are actually very creative when she finally tells you what she is pretending to wear.

7. I love how polite she is. She is very appreciative when we or other people give her things. She always says "please", "thank you" and "your welcome". I love when I get the extra special "thank you so very much, Mommy!"

8. I love her easy-going demeanor. She is very flexible about our plans every day and if I suggest a change in plans, she normally goes with the flow.

9. I love her love for dance and music. She loves to show me what she has learned in dance class and calls herself a ballerina. She is also a great one-kid band. She will set up all of her instruments around her, including a makeshift drum set and go to town singing and playing all of her instruments at once. It's quite a show.

10. I love how mischievous she is. It's all in good fun and Daddy and I get a kick out of how smart she is.

We love you, May-may!! Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Megan was very excited about Daddy's birthday because it involved baking a cake, singing happy birthday and blowing out candles.  She couldn't wait and started singing before the candles were even lit.  Afterward, she helped Daddy open all of his gifts.  Pretty soon it will be her birthday.  Eek!  I should get on that, huh?

Helping blow out the candles.

But she was onto that game.

Daddy was treated to pink cake (strawberry) with cream cheese frosting.  It was delish!
