Little Goblins Party

My Mom's group had a Halloween Party yesterday. Megan was very hesitant to wear her costume, so I was only able to get her into the dress, the wings and tiara will have to wait for Halloween night. She still made a cute Fairy Princess!

Oh and have I mentioned how much this child LOVES candy corn?? She asks for it for breakfast every day and when I say no, she collapses into a fit of giggles. "No Mommy! I can't have candy corn for bekfas! Dat's silly!!"

There were prizes under all that shredded paper. Mommy's prize was to pick out all the shredded paper from her hair and diaper afterwards.

With the bag she made.

Making a lollipop ghost.

Mmmmm, CANDY CORN!! She never did eat the cupcake. Instead, she just mashed it in her hands. Fun times...

"Pumpin Pickin"

Grandma and Grandpa came to visit for a day and Megan took them "pumpin pickin". She had a blast running around the many displays for Halloween and Fall. The combination of having her grandparents with her and seeing so many amazing things made for a very excited kid. It's not wonder she fell asleep during the hayride!

She looks like she's just under the 36-inch mark! I wish she would have stood still so we could find out. :)

Apple Picking at Johnson's Farm

It was a gorgeous day for a hayride and apple picking. Megan had asked me yesterday to go apple picking. How could I say no to that face?? It was a little windy on the hayride, but that didn't phase this little farmer. We did make a pit stop at the pumpkin patch, but we're going to save that for another day. Megan was so excited about the apples, she ran to get her bag and ran into the orchard and started grabbing apples. I love that she knew exactly what needed to be done.

When we got back to the market stand, we paid for our apples and Megs begged to eat an apple. We washed it and she grabbed it from me to take a bite. This was her first apple eaten by biting into it. She saw some boys on the hayride eating apples like this and was fascinated. The whole time she was eating her apples she said, "Mmmm! This a GOOD apple! Mmmm!"

On the hayride.

Got one!

Looks so good, I could eat it NOW!

She picked a peck

She always picked the high ones.

Apple eating is serious business!

Happy Fall!

Park fun

Sunday turned out to be a beautiful Fall day, but in the late afternoon. So we headed out to the park for a little nature walk. The park has a small area dedicated to the local souls that perished on 9/11. The center of the area has a piece of beam from the World Trade Center. The bell that Megan rings says "Let Freedom Ring". It's a beautiful area. I wanted to lay on the bench and just nap. Megan had other ideas.

We collected acorns, ripped leaves, picked up sticks and jumped in very shallow puddles. Oh and she LOVES rocks! Can you tell?

Silly "cheeese!" faced girl!

Hello, my name is Megan and I love to rip leaves.

First Day of Ballet

We enrolled Megan in ballet class at a local dance school. She was a little shy at first and her teacher had to keep coming back to take her away from my side. Once she warmed up, Megan had a great time. She followed directions wonderfully and would watch the teacher and other girls and do what they did. I almost cried when the teachers got her to go up on her tippy toes. I didn't expect it in just the first class.

We discovered that her friend Sarah is in the class too. What a little cutie she is! I can't wait until next week. Originally, parents are not supposed to be in the studio with their children. But since they are so young, they let parents stay with their kids for the first few classes until they are comfortable. After that, we get to watch from the room next door on a monitor. But I am thinking I may go in that room for at least part of the next class.

All ready for class!

Her friend Sarah. Such a cutie!

Ring around the rosie.

Criss-cross applesauce. (crossing her legs)

Tippy toe practice

She got up there for a few seconds!

Jumping and dancing to the music

At the end of class each student gets a sticker and coloring page.

Updates soon!

I promise!

How on earth has it been almost a month already!

I leave you with this...

This was taken under a tent in the rain at our town festival. We had gone for the bouncy house, but it was raining, so it was not possible. The smile you see here is because they were giving out free cookies and I asked her if she wanted one.
