Our New Pen Pal
Megan has a pen pal. I know, it seems almost archaic that people would still have pen pals. I started an exchange on my Mom board where the children could buddy up and have a pen pal to send correspondence to. Our kids are at an age where they love getting mail and meeting other kids.
We were paired with adorable Harper who lives in upstate New York. Megan had written (ok, dictated to me) a letter, after reviewing tons of photos of Harper online and seeing Harper's stash of Barbies, Megan wanted to send her a pic with all her Barbies. And she colored a few things for her too. It was all too cute! Before I sent the letter, she ran to the door to tell me good bye and told me, "Make sure you tell Hawper I love her, ok?"
Well, we received a letter this weekend in the mail and Megan was beyond thrilled. We had gone bowling and I finally checked the mail. It was way past her bedtime, but she was going to open that letter, she was so excited!
Just being goofy because she just loved it all.

Bowling!
We were going stir crazy at home today. Megan had not been anywhere but school in 2 days and was doing laps through the kitchen/dining/living rooms. Two of the ladies from my Mom board and another friend from home all posted bowling statuses on Facebook and I knew it must be fate calling us to bowl.
Neither Jeff or I had been bowling in years, this was going to be fun! Megan was excited too after I told her we were going to roll balls to knock pins down. What almost-4 year old doesn't think that's cool?? From the moment we got there Megan was jumping up and down. She loved the bowling shoes too (they weren't bad at all)! She was the best cheerleader too! She kept yelling out GO MOMMY GO! GO DADDY GO!
Thank goodness they put bumpers up for Megan, otherwise she would have bowled many gutter balls. Would you believe she got a strike at one point?? I kid you not, her scrore was right up there with ours! Her ball traveled at a snail's pace every time and every time she knocked down pins! It was crazy!
Me = 87, Megan = 81, Jeff = 91. Baffling!
